My kids love to play with water. Some times, it’s difficult to get them out of the bathtub! One thing we really enjoy to do on hot days is find a splash pad and let the kiddos go wild. Luckily, we live pretty close to a few city parks that have their own splash parks. The best part is that most of them are free!

Slayter Creek Splash Pad in Anna is a bit of a trek for most of DFW. It’s worth the drive if you happen to live near McKinney or Melissa. The park has amenities that anyone will enjoy. There is a covered playground with 8 slides, a large swing set, and a (sort-of) mini zip line! For parents of older kids, there is also a small skate park with ramps and jumps.

The splash pad itself is great too! My kids loved the “car wash”, the bucket, and the spray nozzle the most. It was a little quiet the day we went. There was a light chance of rain, but our goal was to play in water anyways! There are even some shaded benches for parents to sit on, and they’re far enough from the water, in case you don’t want to get wet yourself.
